Summertime awaits us!

Alright, so, I'm not certain if you all are aware of this but we live in a major city, a hub, an awesome metropolis full of constant activities to partake in and festivals and shopping and dining pleasures. Atlanta is practically orgasmic in terms of what we offer. Trust me- I've definitely realized it in my traveling, let's just say other states' "large cities" don't have squat on ours. Excepting Los Angeles and New York, I'm sure. Also allow the fact, that I've never been to New York but L.A. doesn't really boast a lot of trees- I enjoy our humble shade, winding roads with marvelous oaks on each side- roots ruining the roads as the pop on through. Might be a personal preference, but deal. I've rambled and there IS a point to this.

SUMMER!

We are about to begin the best time to live here in the city. Summer and it's festivals and movies and discounted soft drinks from QT (69 CENTS!!!)

So, I have collected, for your viewing pleasure a list of summer things activities that are available to us in the city.

Screen On The Green- held in Centennial Olympic Park this year due to drought.
-

May 29: Jaws (1975)

June 5: Big Momma’s House (2000)

June 12: Chicago (2002)

June 19: E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982).

June 26: Either Back to the Future, Rocky or Footloose, to be chosen by fans, who can vote at Peachtreetv.com from April 14-27.

Then we've got the Coca-Cola Classics Film Festival at the Fox Theatre

“Shine A Light” — 7:30 pm June 5.
“Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who!” — 2 pm June 8.
“Atonement” — 7 pm June 8.
“Casablanca” — 7:30 pm June 17.
“No Country for Old Men” — 7:30 pm June 18.
“Enchanted” — 2 pm July 13.
“Ben-Hur” — 7 pm July 13.

Tickets are 7 dollars and include a sing along with the famous Mighty Mo Organ and a pre-show classic cartoon, let's face it...that's about the best deal you're going to get on a movie anywhere in Georgia.

What else is available? The endless Braves games, which I am not going to post, if you're curious about the schedule i recommend going to www.braves.com --bonus there is still the theme nights and the college student discount, buy one ticket get one free! Woo for cheap.

You've got day trips available to the High, Fernbank, and Carlos Museums. Plus, the uber-expensive Aquarium, Six Flags, White Water and American Adventures.

And who of us could forget- the cherry on top of the Atlanta-area summer festivities- The Laser Show at Stone Mountain!

So, who's with me? Let's get together and go see a movie, a show, or just hang out in our beautiful city and enjoy the warm weather and our delicious QT drinks.
